My name is Catherine Nunn and I have been Principal at St Mary's School since 2010.
St Mary's School caters for boys and girls from Prep to Grade 6 and our main focus is to provide a quality Catholic education to the students in the Sea Lake area and surrounds. We aim to provide a safe, caring and loving environment for all our students. Our school is centred on Christian values, whereby all members treat each other with love, respect and dignity.
St Mary's is characterised by its strong sense of community and tradition. The parents work hard to support all of our endeavours so that our students are provided with all they need to receive the best education possible. The staff is a close knit team who work collaboratively to make our school a special place to be.
St. Mary’s currently runs three full time classrooms, with the largest having 16 students. Our small class sizes enable us to maximise your child’s learning opportunities through low teacher-student ratios and quality learning. We believe that all students can learn and at a very high standard. With our focus on learning, we are currently working to ensure that our curriculum is viable and guaranteed. We have a 1:1 technology program where every student has their own iPad.
A teleconference centre is also a feature of our school. The classroom area was refurbished to an open, flexible learning space. Our multipurpose hall provides many opportunities for learning. As well as this, teachers work collaboratively and use many sources of student data to ensure the learning of every student is personalised.
I am extremely proud of the warm and supportive family atmosphere that exists at St. Mary’s. Even the most reluctant children soon feel at home with our nurturing environment. Each child is supported and encouraged to reach their highest level of learning.
